Description
The Anna-Lindh-Haus at Europaplatz in Berlin is the first building in Europacity to be built using an innovative timber hybrid construction method. This construction method unites the advantages of wood and concrete, which leads to a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions. The 7-storey building + underground parking (basement) will meet both current and future requirements for sustainability, efficiency and flexibility. As a fully electrified building and thanks to the consistent avoidance of fossil fuels, the building will be CO2-neutral in operation. The final energy requirement will be less than 50 kWh/m² per year. This means that the Anna-Lindh-Haus is around 70 % below the requirements of the Buildings Engergy Act (GEG) reference building.
