Description

The original Globe Theater was built in Schwäbisch Hall in 1999. The construction was based on the Globe Theatre in London. The theatre was completely dismantled in 2016. The Berlin theatre maker Christian Leonard acquired the theatre and financed the dismantling as well as the transport at his own risk in order to realize his vision of a “Globe Theater for Berlin” after 20 years of preliminary work.

The Globe Berlin stands for a new cultural venue in a unique wooden construction that will enrich Berlin’s theatre landscape. Its round interior dissolves spatial divisions and differences between audience groups and supports a unifying atmosphere through the immediate proximity between audience and performers.
