Description

The original Globe Theater was built in Schwäbisch Hall in 1999. The building was based on the Globe Theatre in London. The theater was completely deconstructed in 2016. Berlin theater maker Christian Leonard acquired the theater and financed the deconstruction and transport at his own risk in order to realize his vision of a “Globe Theater for Berlin” after 20 years of preparations.

The Globe Berlin stands for a new cultural venue in a unique timber construction that will enrich Berlin’s theater landscape. Its circular interior dissolves spatial divisions and differences between audience groups and promotes a unifying atmosphere through the immediate closeness between audience and performers.
