Description
After St. Agnes Immobilien- und Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH acquired the community center from the Archdiocese of Berlin in 2012, Johann and Lena König developed a functional concept with the architect Arno Brandlhuber (Brandlhuber+ Emde, Burlon), taking into consideration the architectural and historical significance of the church, which was implemented by Riegler Riewe Architekten with as little impact as possible on the existing building.
The refurbishment and conversion work focused on the church, which has been used as an exhibition space by the KÖNIG GALERIE since 2015. The entire complex, which is a listed building and has been largely preserved in its original condition, has become a place for art and culture in the broadest sense.
